National Guard Celtic Racing Leaves Miller With Determination To Improve Results

Corey Alexander and James Rispoli had a difficult weekend at Miller Motorsports Park, despite strong efforts by both riders in practice, qualifying, and the races. Alexander qualified his #5 National Guard Celtic Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600 in fifth position despite a crash which destroyed his primary machine, with the top five SuperSport qualifiers separated by less than a second. Rispoli qualified in seventh in Daytona Sport Bike aboard his #43 National Guard Celtic Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600, narrowly missing the second row.
In SuperSport race one on Saturday, Alexander would retire after just three laps on his secondary machine when over-heating issues caused the engine to seize. The National Guard Celtic Racing crew worked hard to prepare his machine for Sunday's race two, and despite some early improvement, the second motor also suffered a failure and that was enough to push Alexander back into twelfth place at the flag - a strong result under difficult conditions for Alexander. Corey stated that "the weekend sucked, but I have to give my guys huge thanks for putting a ton of effort in. We have some homework to do to figure out what the issue was with our bike. I'm really excited for New Jersey and my home town race, and I am looking forward to some good results and hopefully the championship as well." James Rispoli had a better weekend than what was reflected by the finishing positions, and rode hard from Friday to Sunday. Rispoli finished a strong sixth in both Daytona Sport Bike races on his National Guard Celtic Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600, with his lap times improving steadily through each race. Rispoli's pace was the fastest a Suzuki GSX-R 600 has turned at Miller, and was consistently quick for each race. Rispoli said that it was "not the best weekend, but we had really consistent lap times. We are still not where we need to be for both races, or where we are capable of being. I'm going back to Florida to train my ass off.
