Joliet, IL. May 14 – Vesrah Suzuki increased their points lead in the WERA National Endurance series by claiming their third consecutive victory at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois.

Vesrah Suzuki riders Tray Batey, Lee Acree and John Jacobi piloted their Pirelli shod Suzuki GSX-R1000 to victory in a race that featured track conditions that kept riders and teams second guessing tire choice. Early morning rain left a damp but drying track for the start but scattered showers throughout the event kept the teams on rain tires for the duration of the race.

A first lap, first corner melee left four riders on the ground and brought out the red flag. The race was quickly restarted and Tray Batey jumped into the lead. Batey lapped the field before pitting twenty five minutes into the second hour to hand off to Lee Acree.

Acree ran a solid stint keeping the second place team, Red Star, at bay after they unlapped themselves during Vesrah Suzuki’s pit stop. A malfunctioning oil temperature gauge brought him in early. The team verified there was not a problem and sent Batey back out on the bike. Batey again lapped the field before handing the bike off to John Jacobi for the final stint.

The skies opened up for the last hour and Jacobi was able to pull the Vesrah Suzuki by Red Star again pushing the eventual winning margin to two laps. Vesrah Suzuki enjoys a thirty six point lead over Red Star as the series heads to round four at the new Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah on June 10th.
