Dear Suzuki Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act.
What is the reason for this notice?
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Suzuki Motor Corporation is conducting a voluntary Safety Recall Campaign for all 2004 and 2005 model year LT-V700F Twin Peaks ATVs.
What is the problem?
A significant impact to the front wheel of the ATV while the steering is fully turned to either side can result in deformation of the ball joint mounting hole in the steering knuckle. Over time the ball joint can become loose in the knuckle and cause the mounting hole to wear. Continued use of the vehicle with a loose ball joint could eventually lead to separation of the ball joint from the knuckle creating the potential for an accident resulting in injury or death.
SUZUKI STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT YOU DO NOT OPERATE YOUR AFFECTED 2004 OR 2005 MODEL YEAR LT-V700FK4 OR LT-V700FK5 TWIN PEAKS ATV UNTIL THE REPAIR HAS BEEN COMPLETEDTo minimize the risk of injury or death, do not ride, or allow anyone else to ride, your ATV. Parts will not be available immediately but will be available soon. Repair parts will begin to arrive by mid-August. Initially, parts will be available in limited quantities, but will soon be more readily available. If you must operate your ATV, please inspect your ATV before each ride in accordance with the Steering Knuckle Inspection Procedure. To review a video of the inspection, click the link below.
What is Suzuki doing to solve the problem?
The correction will consist of replacing the steering knuckles, ball joints, and lower A-arms. The actual repair can take up to two hours but may take longer due to scheduling at the dealership and the time needed to obtain required parts. There will be no charge to you for any recall service related parts or labor.
What should you do?
